📖 Verse 1
أَلَمْتَرَكَيْفَفَعَلَرَبُّكَبِأَصْحَابِالْفِيلِ
English Tafsir (Al-Sa‘dī):
Allah reminds Quraysh of His favor: He destroyed the army that came to demolish the Ka‘bah.
The “People of the Elephant” were led by Abraha; their intent was foiled by Allah’s decree.
📖 Verse 2
أَلَمْيَجْعَلْكَيْدَهُمْفِيتَضْلِيلٍ
English Tafsir (Al-Sa‘dī):
Allah rendered their scheme futile and led it to failure, despite their might and numbers.
Plots against Allah’s sanctities cannot succeed when He decrees otherwise.
📖 Verse 3
وَأَرْسَلَعَلَيْهِمْطَيْرًاأَبَابِيلَ
English Tafsir (Al-Sa‘dī):
Flocks of birds were sent against them as an instrument of divine punishment.
They came in successive groups, overwhelming the invaders by Allah’s command.

تَرْمِيهِمْبِحِجَارَةٍمِّنْسِجِّيلٍ
English Tafsir (Al-Sa‘dī):
The birds pelted them with stones of baked clay—inescapable, precise punishment.
Each stone reached its target by Allah’s will—no power could repel it.

فَجَعَلَهُمْكَعَصْفٍمَّأْكُولٍ
English Tafsir (Al-Sa‘dī):
They were left like chewed-up straw—utterly destroyed, a warning to all who defy Allah.
A vivid image of complete ruin—powerless before the decree of the Lord.
