📖 Verse 1

تَبَّتْيَدَاأَبِيلَهَبٍوَ تَبَّ

English Tafsir (Al-Sa‘di):

“Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab and perish he!”

This verse indicates the ultimate failure and destruction of Abu Lahab, who was a fierce enemy of Islam.

مَاأَغْنَىعَنْهُمَالُهُوَمَاكَسَبَ

English Tafsir (Al-Sa‘di):

“His wealth and what he earned will not benefit him.”

This verse highlights that Abu Lahab’s wealth and actions will not save him from the punishment of Allah.

سَيَصْلَىنَارًاذَاتَلَهَبٍ

English Tafsir (Al-Sa‘di):

“He will enter a blazing Fire.”

فِيجِيدِهَاحَبْلٌ مِنْمَسَدٍ

“Around her neck is a twisted rope of palm fibre.”
